1 Peter 2:1-2
KJV 1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, all evil speakings, 2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
ASV 1 Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, 2 as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;
These are my thoughts.
1 We should put away our sinful desires and take up the ways of the Lord.
2 We should be longing for a deeper relationship with Jesus.

These are my thoughts.
For those who tasted God’s grace and walks away, I don’t understand, His grace is so sweet and such a blessing.

KJV 4 To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,
ASV 4 unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but with God elect, precious,
These are my thoughts.
He is the precious stone that we as Christians build our lives on and we build our lives with. We live for God not for man; we live for His glory not ours or others.

1 Peter 2:5
KJV 5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
ASV 5 ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
These are my thoughts.
We are building blocks of the church that the Lord has been building, we may at time need repair but we are to be apart of the church built on the foundation of Jesus as Lord.

ASV 6 Because it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
These are my thoughts.
This keystone is Jesus. We can avoid the eternal shame of hell by receiving Jesus.

KJV 7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
ASV 7 For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner;
These are my thoughts.
Our faith as believers is built on Jesus but this world isn’t built on this stone and they wont stand but we stand in the Lord.

When we go against His word/will it leads us to our fall but following Him gives us purpose in Him.

These are my thoughts.
Because of us having Jesus we are special people, He loves us.

BBE 10 In the past you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; then there was no mercy for you, but now mercy has been given to you.
These are my thoughts.
We are to have a unity thru Christ to where we together are His people, thru His mercy.

ASV 11 Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul;
These are my thoughts.
He is telling Christians that we need to keep ourselves from the desires our flesh has to sin.

KJV 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
ASV 12 having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
These are my thoughts.
What we do shouldn’t be like it was when were of the world but should now be good works that glorify God.

We should live by the laws of men as service to the Lord because we do so because we are submissive to Him.

KJV 14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
ASV 14 or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
These are my thoughts.
Leaders need to be willing and should punish evil and praise good but often times in this day this doesn’t happen anymore.

The way we live is intended to be used by God to convict those who reject Him and this may bring them to the faith.

ASV 16 as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
These are my thoughts.
We are free as servants of the Lord; there is more liberty as His servants then to be free from Him under the bondage of sin.

These are my thoughts.
Grieving for sin shows that we have the Lord as our Savior.

KJV 20 For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

These are my thoughts.
If we suffer for pleasing God then let us honor Him and rely on Him thru it but let us not confuse suffering for God with suffering for our bad decisions, tactics or way we go about things.
