Hebrews 7:21 King James Version (KJV) 21 (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said unto him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)
Hebrews 7:21 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
21 but Yeshua became a cohen by the oath which God swore when he said to him, “ADONAI has sworn and will not change his mind, ‘You are a cohen forever.’”

These are my thoughts. Jesus who is the Highest of priest was the fulfillment to an oath and by Him we are made priests to where we can go to God thru Him.

Hebrews 7:22 King James Version (KJV) 22 By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.
Hebrews 7:22 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
22 Also this shows how much better is the covenant of which Yeshua has become guarantor.

These are my thoughts. It was by His own life that there came about a better covenant, it not in stone but by His blood.

Hebrews 7:23 King James Version (KJV) 23 And they truly were many priests, because they were not suffered to continue by reason of death:
Hebrews 7:23 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
23 Moreover, the present cohanim are many in number, because they are prevented by death from continuing in office.

These are my thoughts. As the Levites were made priests by their blood we are made priests by Christ’s blood.

Hebrews 7:24 King James Version (KJV) 24 But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
Hebrews 7:24 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
24 But because he lives forever, his position as cohen does not pass on to someone else;

These are my thoughts. Christ’s priesthood does not go away because He lives.

Hebrews 7:25 King James Version (KJV) 25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
Hebrews 7:25 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
25 and consequently, he is totally able to deliver those who approach God through him; since he is alive forever and thus forever able to intercede on their behalf.

These are my thoughts. Jesus stands before the throne standing in our defense because He saved us and brought us to faith.

Hebrews 7:26 King James Version (KJV) 26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Hebrews 7:26 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
26 This is the kind of cohen gadol that meets our need — holy, without evil, without stain, set apart from sinners and raised higher than the heavens;

These are my thoughts. Christ is our High Priest and He was also the perfect sacrifice for our sins.

Hebrews 7:27 King James Version (KJV) 27 Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself.
Hebrews 7:27 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
27 one who does not have the daily necessity, like the other cohanim g’dolim, of offering up sacrifices first for their own sins and only then for those of the people; because he offered one sacrifice, once and for all, by offering up himself.

These are my thoughts. Christ offered Himself up for us because He is perfect there was no sacrifice needed for Him. He is our priest and our sacrifice.

Hebrews 7:28 King James Version (KJV) 28 For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity; but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.
Hebrews 7:28 Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
28 For the Torah appoints as cohanim g’dolim men who have weakness; but the text which speaks about the swearing of the oath, a text written later than the Torah, appoints a Son who has been brought to the goal forever.

These are my thoughts. The men who were priests had sins themselves but Christ our Priest is sinless.
